the Casey

“Our goal with the Casey would be fifty percent more efficient then a comparable building… that it would use fifty percent less energy.  And we believe we’re there”
Dennis Wilde Senior Project Manager, Gerding Edlen Development

Developed in 2007 by Gerding Edlen Development, The Casey became the first building in the country to be LEED certified Platinum.  The Casey was developed on a quarter block on the corner of NW 12th and Everett in Portland’s Pearl District.  The Casey is a 16 story tower featuring 61 homes with the average home size over 2,000 sqft.  It also features fewer the 5 homes per floor.  When entering the Casey you are greeted by the beautiful contemporary lobby featuring Bullseye glass art, travertine floors, walnut paneled walls and large wood formed desk for the 24 hour concierge.  Some energy efficient features of the building include solar panels installed on the roof to generate common area electricity and roof top eco gardens to lessen water runoff.
